A good man leaves an inheritance to his sons’ sons, and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. For God giveth to a man that is good in his sight wisdom, and knowledge, and joy: but to the sinner he giveth travail, to gather and to heap up, that he may give to him that is good before God.... But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, so that He may confirm His covenant.... Proverbs tells us that the wealth that is in the world’s system is being laid up by the sinner. Ecclesiastes gives us even more detail by telling us that the sinner’s job is to go to work to gather and heap up the wealth so God may give it to those that are good in His sight. So where do you think the wealth that is being stored up is located? It’s really not a great mystery—the answer is in Ecclesiastes 2:26. When you really begin to think about it, you will come to realize the wealth that is in the world never leaves the world, it just keeps getting moved around.
